Multiple interactions between fishbone instabilities and internal transport barriers in EAST plasmas

چکیده

Abstract Fishbone instabilities and internal transport barriers (ITBs) are frequently sequentially observed in tokamak plasmas. Recently, the relationship between fishbone ITBs was numerically studied, mainly on basis of experimental results (Liu et al 2020 Nucl. Fusion 60 122001). It identified that a radial electric field can be generated by itself, which may act as trigger for ITB formation. To gain deeper understanding this subject, work we further demonstrate multiple interactions instability Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) experiments (discharge #56933) using hybrid kinetic-MHD code M3D-K. In multiple- n simulations, it is found zonal induced nonlinear stage, leading to relatively large E × B flow sufficient suppress dominant microinstability before formation; should account triggering. After triggered, equilibrium pressure gradient increases fast ions from neutral beam injection accumulate region. Linear simulations performed analyze effect formation instability. shown due change during expansion, bootstrap current density profile modifies q -profile then stabilizes mode. Additionally, accumulation leads broadening ion distribution around region, also has stabilizing

Impurity Behavior in ITER and Helical Burning Plasmas with Internal Transport Barriers

The impurity transport simulation code TOTAL (TOroidal Transport Analysis Linkage) consisting of 1-D(dimensional) transport and 2or 3-D equilibrium is developed for analyzing tokamak and helical burning plasmas controlled by feedback scheme with gas puffing, pellet fueling injection and heating power modulations. In this code multi-species of impurity ions can be treated including neoclassical ...

Magnetohydrodynamic Equilibrium with Flow in Toroidal Plasmas and its Relevance to Internal Transport Barriers

The appearance of transport barriers in plasmas is usually taken to be the result of bifurcations in the transport equations, in which the possible control parameters is the radial electric field, in association with shear flow, which may contribute to the reduction or suppression of turbulent fluctuations. Yet, most calculations start from the assumption of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equilibira...

Numerical solution of transport equations for plasmas with transport barriers

An approach to solve numerically transport equations for plasmas with spontaneously arising and arbitrarily located transport barriers, regions with a strongly reduced transfer of energy, is proposed. The transport equations are written in a form conserving heat flux and solved numerically by using piecewisely exact analytical solutions of linear differential equations. Compared to standard met...
